THE STORY BEHIND THE ASSOCIATION
KAEI hosts two statewide training events each year — built for Kentucky's electrical inspectors, contractors, and electricians who take their work seriously.
No sales pitches. No fluff. Just hands-on code training, expert panels, and the kind of real-world knowledge that keeps you sharp, certified, and confident on the job site.
Can we guarantee no one will ever fall asleep?
Of course not. You control your rest and caffiene intake.
But this will be likely the most non-boring training you'll ever find.
That's because the panels feature experts from different walks of life and the KAEI founders encourage you to speak up, engage, ask your questions — even challenge what you're hearing.
When you bring your questions and your own field experience, everyone in the room benefits.
No AI is replacing that.

Dennis didn't want another bloated organization with expensive conferences and corporate sponsors calling the shots.
He wanted something simple:
A place where inspectors, contractors, and electricians could gather twice a year — once in Louisville, once in Lexington — learn from each other, earn their CEUs, and go home better at their jobs than when they walked in.
No sales pitches.
No fluff.
Just real training, real answers, and real respect for your time.
We meet two times a year:
• Winter (usually End-of-Feb to Early-March) in Louisville – A 2-day event. Day 1 is geared toward Master Electricians and contractors (6 CEU hours). Day 2 provides 8 hours toward inspectors' annual 12-hour requirement.
• Mid-Year in Lexington – Same structure. Same value.
• Electrical inspectors from Louisville, Lexington, and small towns in between
• Contractors who want to stay ahead of code changes and avoid costly mistakes
• General electricians who take their craft seriously and want to keep learning
Some of our guys have been with us since day one. Joe Downer — a legend in the Kentucky inspection world — hasn't missed a meeting.
"Indiana Guy" drives two hours each way because the training and the community are worth it.
Our members include:
• Accessibility – $100 a year. That's it. No hidden fees, no upsells.
• Practical education – Real-world scenarios, expert panels, code discussions that matter on the job site.
• Community – When you've got a tough call to make, you'll have 150+ pros you can reach out to.
• Integrity – We don't play politics. We don't sell you stuff. We just show up and do the work.
We believe in:
Provide affordable, high-quality training that keeps Kentucky's electrical professionals certified, sharp, and connected.
